Let’s talk Eyebrow Healing!
So you’ve had your Permanent eyebrows done and now they need to heal for 6 weeks, so what should you expect during this time?
IMMEDIATELY AFTER TREATMENT
When you first look in the mirror you brows will look quite dark! They will look at their darkest immediately after they have been Microbladed or shaded. This is due to the pigment mixing with a small amount of blood. If they have been microbladed they will also look very liney and bold. They will heal over the next 6 weeks to a lighter colour and look a lot softer!
Week 1– Your brows will start to dry out and go flakey. This flakiness will start to shed over the next few days, though they may feel itchy do not itch or pick the dryness as this will cause the pigment to come away from the eyebrows!
Week 2-3 – Over the next couple of weeks the dryness will come away completely and leave your pigment underneath. Don’t worry if this looks patchy or light in colour, at this stage that is completely normal!
Week 3 – 5. Over these weeks your brows will start to heal internally and the broken skin is now knitting itself back together over the top of the freshly implanted pigment, These weeks can be a bit of a roller-coaster as some days the colour will look super light and other days they will look patchy and dark. This is to be expected and is due to the reflection of light on the freshly healed skin causing an uneven look. This will even out more by the 6 week mark
Week 6 – Your brows are now ready for their 6 week top up; they will look a lot lighter than the initial appointment and may look gappy in places. At this point it is completely normal is there are areas that need going over or areas where colour has disappeared altogether. This is why your 6 week top up appointment is so important as during this we appointment we go over the areas that need it and take the colour darker if needed and really tweak that shape!
After your 6 week top up the brows will go back through the same healing process and are then ready to go for 12 months before they will be due their colour boost.
